My Greatest Creation

Every mother thinks their child is cute, smart and talented.......................well, I know mine is.  He is not a child any more, but he is still all of that and more. Many members of my family enjoyed/enjoy painting: my grandmother, my uncle, my niece, myself,  and my son.

My son, Tim,  started showing talent at a very early age. We decided to get him a small desk, when he was two, with lots of coloring materials. When he was a little older, he was taken to art classes. As a true artist, he did not like the classes because he wanted to paint what he felt like painting and not what was planned by the teacher.  As he got older and had many other interests, he was  still able to sketch anything placed in front of him.  He did not go into the arts, but  managed to take an art course as part of the curriculum in college. He is now married, with two children. He tries to paint or sketch when time allows.

I am now seeing the talent being passed down to my granddaughter, Nola. Although she may choose a career path that does not require artistic talent, she may be like her Dad and enjoy it for the rest of her life. It is great to see them enjoy their creations while I just smile and know that he is my greatest creation.
