This week I was fortunate enough to be part of the Common Roots Exhibit at the Miami Beach Botanical Garden. This was an art exhibit about native and traditional plants of Florida and the Caribbean region. The curators for this show Debra Cortese, Winsome Bolt and Carol Hoffman-Guzman did a fantastic job in selecting the works and promoting the exhibit. The opening reception on Tuesday night revealed a variety of art; everything from oils, watercolors, photography, to scultptures made from plants. The room was filled to capacity and everyone was enjoying the art, the wine from Schnebly Winery and fresh nibblings from The Market Company. The night ended with the announcement of the awards.
